Turkey’s request for the aircraft
The request was submitted by Turkey in March 2023 for the aircraft, which are a collaboration between BAE Systems, Airbus and Italian Leonardo. Production will take place in the United Kingdom, with components sourced from Germany.
A German government spokesperson declined to comment, noting that Security Council meetings are classified. The approval was first revealed by Der Spiegel.
