US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that his administration has reached a trade agreement with Japan, which includes the imposition of additional customs tariffs of 15% on Japanese products imported to the United States.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump characterized the agreement as “tremendous” and possibly the “biggest deal ever made.” He claimed that under his leadership, Japan will make investments worth $550 billion in the American economy, which, according to him, will lead to the creation of “hundreds of thousands of jobs.” Within the framework of the agreement, he emphasized that “Japan will pay reciprocal tariffs of 15% to the US.”
