Iran will respond immediately with decisiveness and force to any threat against its people or leadership, the country’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, declared on Wednesday (1/7) in a post on platform X, sending a clear “message” to Israel. The remarks came while US and Iranian delegations were holding technical talks in Doha, Qatar, with US President Donald Trump describing them as going well. “The President of the United States has committed the US to ‘muzzling’ its ‘pets’ in Tel Aviv,” he added.
“The President of the United States has committed the US to ‘muzzling’ its ‘pets’ in Tel Aviv. If they ignore their master, Iran will school them,” Araghchi wrote pointedly.
It is worth noting that the United States and Iran held talks as part of broader efforts to reach an agreement on navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and to secure a permanent ceasefire. Araghchi’s post came in direct response to statements by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, who reportedly claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, had been “targeted for death.”
The terms of the Islamabad MoU are crystal clear and public for all to see.
