The United States Armed Forces announced that eight Air Force personnel were aboard a B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber that crashed on Monday, shortly after takeoff from a base in California, adding that initial findings indicate there are no survivors.
The B-52 was scheduled to carry out a “routine test mission” and had “eight people” on board when it “crashed shortly after takeoff at 11:20” (local time; 21:20 Greece time), with “initial findings indicating that no one could have survived the crash,” stated the 412th Test Wing, which is based at Edwards Air Force Base, in a press release it published.
