Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky are exploring the possibility of reaching an agreement on weapons purchases. The Ukrainian president told the New York Post in an interview that if the deal is completed, it would include:
- Washington’s purchase of Ukrainian drones, battle-tested in combat zones.
- Kiev’s purchase of weapons from the United States.

Zelensky also stated that his recent talks with Trump focused “on an agreement that would help each country strengthen its aerial technology.” It should be noted that Ukrainian unmanned aircraft have managed to strike targets up to 1,300 kilometers deep inside Russian territory.
“The American people need this technology and you must have it in your arsenal,” Zelensky said characteristically. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that unmanned aircraft were the key tool that allowed his country to counter Russia’s invasion for more than three years.
“Ready to share the experience”
“We will be ready to share this experience with America and other European partners,” he said. Zelensky added that Ukraine is also in talks with Denmark, Norway, and Germany. He announced future agreements with the United States, which, he said, would strengthen his country, as he appeared in parliament to propose his new government.
