“They played with us today. We annihilated them. They played. I consider it something insignificant,” the Republican president told reporters. US military says it struck Iran after “attack” against 3 destroyers in Strait of Hormuz
It should be noted that the US armed forces announced they “targeted Iranian military facilities” after three American destroyers suffered “unprovoked” Iranian attacks while sailing through the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf. “US forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with strikes in legitimate defense as American Navy missile destroyers were transiting the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman on May 7th,” stated CENTCOM (Central Command) via X, the joint command of US armed forces responsible for the Middle East, clarifying that the attack was carried out with “missiles, drones and small vessels.”
US armed forces elements “neutralized the threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for the attacks against American forces, including missile and unmanned aerial vehicle launch facilities, command and control centers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance bases,” CENTCOM added, emphasizing that it “does not seek escalation” but remains “ready” to “protect American forces”.
