The American president’s decision was made following a request from Pakistan and other states, as well as under the weight of developments in talks with Iran.

Despite this suspension, the naval blockade remains active. The temporary halt of “Project Freedom” operations aims to provide time to assess whether a final agreement between the involved parties can be achieved and signed.
