Social media footage shows the final moments of 35-year-old Andrea Russo running across the Italian airport runway toward an aircraft that had begun taxiing, before the turbine engine fatally drew in the unfortunate man, causing his immediate death.

The shocking incident occurred last Tuesday (08.07.2025) – the 35-year-old managed to pass all security checks at the Lombardy airport and reached the runway where a Volotea Airbus was taxiing ready for takeoff. Various security personnel were around him, but none stopped him.

Russo first struck the fuselage, fell, got up, and then ran around the aircraft to throw himself toward the engine. In these final meters toward death, no one chased or stopped him.
