The head of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, Paula White, compared Donald Trump to Jesus Christ, with many accusing her of “blasphemy.” Speaking at an Easter event, White said about the US President: “Jesus taught so much through his death, burial, and resurrection. He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice. And Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have. It almost cost you your life.”
“You were betrayed, arrested, and falsely accused. This is a familiar pattern”
“You were betrayed, arrested, and falsely accused. This is a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us. But it didn’t end there for him, and it didn’t end there for you. God always had a plan. On the third day, he rose again, he defeated evil, he defeated death, hell, and the grave. And because he was resurrected, we all know we can be resurrected. And sir, because of his resurrection, you were resurrected too,” White continued.
“And I believe the Lord told me to tell you this – because of His victory, you will be victorious in everything you do,” she added, with the American president smiling and the audience applauding.
But she didn’t stop there. In a prayer she delivered from the podium, she said, among other things, “America is blessed because Trump decided to dedicate the nation to you, my Lord” and “everything you touch (referring to Trump) you do with God’s grace, and just as Jesus was man and God, I say the same about Donald Trump.”
