The Revolutionary Guards have released video footage showing the downing of an American F-35A/B Lightning II aircraft at an air base in the Middle East. It should be noted that both the United States and Israel use F-35 aircraft in the battlefield, with each aircraft costing over $100 million. Squadron Leader Tim Hawkins, spokesperson for US Central Command (CENTCOM), stated that the fifth-generation stealth aircraft “was conducting a combat mission over Iran” when it was forced to make an emergency landing at a Middle Eastern base, while assuring that the pilot is hospitalized in stable condition. If the incident is confirmed, it would mark the first time Iran has struck a US aircraft in the war that erupted in late February.
