The Islamic Republic will “avenge” the death of the head of the Islamic Republic’s national security council, Ali Larijani, announced today the head of the Iranian army, General Amir Khatami, according to the Tasnim news agency.

Iran will “avenge” Larijani’s death: What army chief Khatami announced
It should be noted that on Tuesday evening (17/03) the death of Ali Larijani was confirmed by Iranian state media. According to an announcement broadcast by Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency, the country’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed Larijani’s assassination.
General Khatami in a statement referenced by Tasnim, following the death of the head of the supreme national security council and other individuals in an airstrike in the capital Tehran, emphasized that Iran “will take revenge” for “the pure blood” of Ali Larijani and “the other beloved martyrs.”
Strikes on Tel Aviv
For their part, the Revolutionary Guards stated in their announcement that the strikes targeting Tel Aviv during the night –which resulted in the deaths of two people, according to Israeli emergency services– were launched to “avenge” the death of Ali Larijani and other officials who were killed yesterday in Iran.
