In a new televised address, Masoud Pezeshkian declared that Tehran will continue to strike hard. Specifically, the Iranian president stated: “The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to strike hard, they will continue to destroy the military bases of our enemies. The martyrdom of the revolution’s leader was the culmination of years of sacrifice,” Masoud Pezeshkian said among other things in his televised address.
Previously, Pezeshkian had characterized the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader as an “open declaration of war against Muslims“, particularly Shiites. “This tragic event is the greatest test facing the Islamic world today,” he stated.
