A new round of negotiations continues in Geneva between Ukraine, Russia and the United States, aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. At midday, around 3:30 PM Greek time, talks began between Ukrainian officials and American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
According to Kyiv, the new meeting aims to prepare for further trilateral talks with Russia, as part of efforts to find a solution to the conflict.
Ukraine talks: Negotiations continue
“Today in Geneva we continue our work within the framework of the negotiation process. A bilateral meeting with the American delegation has begun, with envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner,” Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov said in a post on X.
According to the Russian news agency RIA, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev arrived in Geneva early in the afternoon, where he may hold talks with American officials.
RIA reported that shortly after 5:30 PM Greek time, Dmitriev was seen arriving at the Four Seasons hotel, where the American delegation was holding discussions with Ukrainian representatives.
