Marking four years since the beginning of the Ukraine war, Vladimir Putin warned that Russia’s adversaries know how things could end if they resort to using “nuclear elements in any attack against Russia.” Escalating his rhetoric, he emphasized “the enemy relies on individual and mass terrorism,” having failed to cause a strategic defeat to the Russian Federation. Putin also accused Kiev of trying to torpedo the peace process.
“Russia’s adversaries are doing everything they can to undermine achievements in negotiations on Ukraine,” he claimed. Russia has many promising developments in defense and politics, not only those that have already been presented, the Russian president stated. Speaking at the meeting of the administrative council of the FSB (former KGB), the Russian president announced possible sabotage attempts on the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream pipelines in the Black Sea.
Putin: Essential to strengthen security of energy and transport infrastructure
The number of terrorist attacks in Russia has increased, mainly at the hands of Ukrainian intelligence services, Putin said.
“Russia’s ‘special operation’ requires the FSB to be as concentrated and focused as possible. The FSB must strengthen security for Defense Ministry officials and the defense industry, journalists, and those who influence public opinion,” Putin stated.
It is essential to strengthen anti-terrorist security of energy and transport infrastructure, as well as public gathering places, he added.
The service’s potential must be fully utilized to neutralize possible threats to the Russian Federation, the Russian president noted according to TASS.
