A shocking case has sent waves around the world involving a former teacher accused of multiple sexual assaults and rapes in France and other countries against 89 minors between 1967-2022. The 79-year-old former educator was imprisoned in 2024, and following the charges, French authorities are seeking witnesses for crimes committed in Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Niger, Algeria, Philippines, India, Colombia, and New Caledonia, according to Grenoble prosecutor Etienne Mandot.
The USB Drive That Exposed Him
The number of victims was revealed through evidence stored by the 79-year-old on a USB drive containing records of sexual encounters with minors aged 13 to 17, the prosecutor explained during a press conference.
The USB containing the suspect’s own written records was discovered by his nephew, who “had questions about his uncle’s personal and sexual life,” according to the Grenoble prosecutor.
France: Confesses to Murdering Mother and Aunt
During the investigation, the man also confessed incidentally to murdering his mother and aunt. In his “memoirs,” he writes that he “deliberately killed these two people.”
Specifically, he confessed to suffocating his terminally ill cancer-stricken mother with a pillow in the 1970s, and subsequently his 92-year-old aunt in the 1990s, also smothering her with a pillow.
Regarding his aunt, “because he wanted to move to Geneva (in southern France) and she was begging him not to leave, he chose to kill her, and while she was sleeping, he took a pillow and suffocated her.”
The 79-year-old confessed to both murders, saying he “would want someone to do the same to him if he were in that condition at the end of his life.”
