The Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned vessel Magic Seas is sinking in the Red Sea after an attack by Houthi rebels. The Houthis today claimed responsibility for the attack in an official statement.
The Houthis’ military spokesperson, Brigadier Yahya Saree, claimed in a videotaped statement that the vessel belonged to a company that continued to operate routes to Israel.

He further emphasized that the Houthis attacked the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned vessel with explosive drones and missiles.
Sunday’s attack left the “Magic Seas” burning in the Red Sea. The 22 crew members abandoned ship and were rescued, however water ingress is extensive and the vessel is expected to sink.
