Workers left their jobs and thousands of citizens took to the streets again in various major US cities to protest against ICE. The killings of two American citizens by immigration police have triggered a wave of outrage, and from Los Angeles to New York, marches took place against the government and ICE, demanding Trump withdraw it from Minneapolis.
Minneapolis shootings: Mobilizations continue after Alex Pretty’s death
People like Kim, a 65-year-old meditation teacher, speak of an “all-out fascist attack by our federal government against citizens.”
Bruce Springsteen supported the protest, taking the stage at a fundraising event for Good and Pretty in downtown Minneapolis and performing his new song “Streets of Minneapolis,” which has received criticism from government officials.
A total of 250 mobilizations took place in 46 states and major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, under the slogan: “No work. No school. No shopping. Stop funding ICE.”
In California, however, incidents were not lacking.
