Air raid sirens sounded this morning in several regions of Israel following missile launches from Iran, the armed forces announced, while French Press Agency reporters heard powerful explosions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
“A short while ago, sirens sounded in regions of Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel,” the Israeli Defense Forces stated in their announcement, adding that the Air Force “is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat.”

In Tehran, the Iranian Civil Aviation Service announced that flight cancellations have been extended until 2:00 PM today (local time, 1:30 PM Greek time).
Israel: Orders residents to remain near shelters
The Home Front Command issued much shorter warnings before Iran’s nighttime ballistic attacks compared to the past, possibly due to the relatively small number of missiles launched.
Iran fired fewer than 10 missiles total in three separate attacks — shortly after midnight, at 3:30 AM, and at 4:30 AM — but in each case, the Home Front Command issued warnings to civilians only 2-3 minutes before sirens sounded.
Usually, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) provide warnings approximately 10 minutes before sirens sound, once missile launches are detected.
At the same time, fires and smoke are visible around Tel Aviv following the missile attack.
According to Haaretz, the latest wave of Iranian attacks involved 20-30 missiles launched toward Israel.
Explosions in Iran’s Tabriz
The Iranian news agency Mehr reports that smoke is rising in the northwestern city of Tabriz following an explosion around 8:45 AM local time, while the French Press Agency reported two explosions.
