British Prime Minister Keir Starmer delivered a performance referencing French President Emmanuel Macron at a comedy event in London. The British Prime Minister won over the audience with his relaxed and self-deprecating attitude when he took the stage wearing aviator sunglasses.
Specifically, Starmer participated in “The Political Party Live” show, hosted at the Duchess Theatre, where he gave an interview in front of an audience, temporarily setting aside his strict political profile. In a video he posted on TikTok, he can be seen being offered a pair of sunglasses, which he puts on without hesitation, saying “Bonjour,” causing laughter from the audience.

Starmer: “Talk to me, Goose”
The moment referenced Macron’s recent appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where the French president had stood out wearing similar, striking sunglasses. The British Prime Minister continued the teasing in his post caption, writing “Talk to me, Goose,” a line from the movie Top Gun, which has been associated with the popularity of aviator glasses.
The joke provoked a warm reaction from the West End audience, with Starmer telling show host Matt Forde that he could appear wearing them even at international meetings. A little later, however, he joked that he would eventually need his regular prescription glasses, as otherwise he wouldn’t be able to see what’s happening in Parliament.
