Iran wants talks with the United States and Israel aimed at stopping hostilities, according to the Wall Street Journal. Specifically, Iran is sending messages to Israel and the United States through Arab intermediaries for this purpose, the outlet reported citing officials.

The report cites officials saying that Tehran has told Arab officials it would not rule out a return to the negotiating table, provided the US does not participate in hostilities.
Specifically, Iran asked Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman to pressure President Trump to use his influence on Israel to move toward an immediate ceasefire. This would be in exchange for Tehran’s flexibility in negotiations over its nuclear program, two Iranian and three regional sources told Reuters on Monday.
They also sent messages to Israel saying it is in both sides’ interest to limit the violence. Iran reportedly told Arab officials it could accelerate its nuclear program and expand the scope of the war if there are no prospects for resuming talks with the US. However, Reuters could not immediately verify this report.
