Tariff threats undermine transatlantic relations, according to a joint statement from the eight countries that Donald Trump threatened with tariffs due to their stance on the Greenland issue. In their declaration, they emphasized they will continue united and coordinated in their response.
Specifically, the countries: France, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden and Finland simultaneously express their solidarity with Denmark and the people of Greenland and as NATO members commit to strengthening security in the Arctic as a common transatlantic interest.
As they note in the relevant statement: “Threats to impose tariffs undermine transatlantic relations and carry the risk of a dangerous downward spiral.”
