Greenland: Foreign Minister breaks down on air over “intense pressure” from Trump
“We work very hard in our ministry, despite the fact that we are not many,” she said in an interview with the national KNR network after the talks. “Normally I wouldn’t want to say these words, but I will: We are very strong. We’re doing our best. But in recent days, of course…” she managed to add before tears overcame her. “I get very emotional. I am overwhelmed. The last few days have been difficult. Our preparations and the mounting pressure have been intense,” she finally managed to say.
“Greenland’s government remains strong”
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister emphasized that Greenland’s government remains strong and promised to work “so that the people of Greenland in our country feel safe and live securely,” adding: “We use all our strength to achieve this as we continue our work.” It should be noted that Motzfeldt met yesterday with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, US Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the White House, in talks that ended in disagreement over Greenland, which has thoroughly whetted Trump’s appetite.
