The Russian military reiterated today its claims that Ukraine attacked Vladimir Putin’s residence with drones and released video showing an unmanned aerial vehicle that was allegedly shot down during the “attack,” which Kyiv categorically denies. The Russian Defense Ministry published footage showing a soldier with his face covered standing next to drone debris and a map supposedly showing the drone routes during the attack that Moscow blames on Kyiv.
According to Moscow, 91 drones were used
The attack allegedly took place from Sunday night into Monday, according to the Kremlin. Moscow claims 91 drones were used. The Kremlin has not presented evidence to prove its claim. Nearly three days later, the video showing drone debris is the first evidence Moscow has presented to substantiate its allegation, along with the map and testimony from a resident of a nearby village.
European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas accused Russia of seeking to derail peace efforts by promoting “unfounded” allegations about an attack on Putin’s residence. “Russia’s claim that Ukraine recently targeted key government targets in Russia is aimed at distraction,” she warned in a post on X.
