Two tankers collided in Turkey, specifically off the coast of Istanbul. The two oil vessels – flying Turkish and Azerbaijani flags – crashed off Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, and issued distress calls for help as rescue teams rushed to the scene.

Turkey: Cause of tanker collision remains unknown
The cause of the collision remains unknown at this time. Following the distress signals from both vessels, rescue teams from the General Directorate of Coast Guard and the tugboat Kurtarma-9 were dispatched to the incident location. Rescue operations continue for the 141-meter tanker “Kalbajar” and the 115-meter vessel “Alatepe,” according to Turkish media reports.
