Donald Trump is expected to be honored in 2026 with Israel’s “Nobel Peace Prize” by Benjamin Netanyahu. Specifically, in a press conference given by Netanyahu and Donald Trump, the Israeli Prime Minister announced that he plans to award him the “Israel Prize,” which is considered the country’s highest civilian honor. It is worth noting that by announcing he will award Donald Trump this peace prize, Benjamin Netanyahu breaks a decades-long tradition of awarding it to Israeli citizens.
Netanyahu to Trump: “Israelis appreciate what you have done to support our fight against Hamas”
Israelis “appreciate what you have done to help Israel and support our fight against Hamas in Gaza,” the Israeli Prime Minister stated.
The American President, visibly enthusiastic, said he was “very surprised” and “moved” to be honored with this award, suggesting that he might travel to Israel for the ceremony in early July, which traditionally takes place on the eve of the US national holiday, Independence Day.
It should be recalled that Donald Trump presents himself as the “architect” of a peace plan for Gaza, which has been devastated for more than two years by a war waged by Israel and triggered by the Hamas attack on October 7th.
Trump boasts that he has ended eight wars (Gaza, India-Pakistan, Cambodia-Thailand, etc.), while believing that his efforts should earn him the Nobel Peace Prize.
