Russia unleashed overnight missile attacks and drone strikes on Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine, just hours before the crucial meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, which is expected to focus on efforts to reach an agreement that could lead to ending the nearly four-year war.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president had stated that the talks he will have on Sunday in Florida will focus primarily on territorial issues and who will exercise control over specific regions.

During the attacks, explosions were heard in various parts of Kyiv, while Ukrainian air defense systems were activated. The Ukrainian military announced via Telegram that missiles were deployed, while the country’s Air Force reported that Russian drones targeted the capital, as well as areas in the northeastern and southern parts of Ukraine.

“Explosions in the capital. Air defense systems have been activated,” the mayor of Kyiv stated in a post on the Telegram platform, appealing to citizens to remain in shelters until further notice. Air defense systems remained active in the capital for about four hours, and so far there are no immediate reports of damage or power outages.
At night of 27th December, russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv.
As of now, 11 people have been wounded. More than 20 residential buildings have been damaged, as well as heating infrastructure.
