The head of US Central Command (CENTCOM) General Michael Kurilla has requested increased aid to Israel, but the Pentagon has not yet approved his request, according to American website Semafor. The report indicates that Pentagon officials are divided on the issue of aid to Israel, with Deputy Defense Secretary for Policy Elbridge Colby opposing the deployment of additional American military resources to the Middle East.
According to Colby, moving American forces away from the Pacific could weaken US readiness in the region. A source cited by Semafor stated that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth tends to side with Kurilla on issues related to the Middle East.
Earlier we reported that according to Reuters, the American aircraft carrier USS Nimitz left the South China Sea on Monday morning heading westward.
