A 61-year-old school custodian in Germany has been found guilty of abusing his wife, whom he drugged, raped and videotaped, in a case that resembles that of Dominique Pelicot in France. Specifically, according to CNN, Fernando P. was found guilty of abusing his wife in their home, repeatedly drugging her and then raping her, recording the incidents on video and sharing them online, without the victim’s knowledge. He was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison after a trial in a court in Aachen, western Germany.
The court stated that the man violated “the most personal sphere of private life and personal rights with recordings in 34 cases, of which in 4 cases in combination with rape and dangerous bodily harm“. He was also convicted of sexual coercion and sexual assault.
Raped and videotaped his wife: A horrific case one year after French Dominique Pelicot’s conviction
Although charged with crimes spanning nearly 15 years, the court found him guilty of offenses between 2018 and 2024. He was acquitted of some other charges, the details of which have not been made public.
The verdict comes exactly one year after the conviction of Frenchman Dominique Pelicot, who recruited dozens of strangers from chatrooms to rape and abuse his then-wife Gisèle.
