Donald Trump is intensifying pressure on Venezuela, with the American president declaring the country’s government a “foreign terrorist organization,” as he announced via Truth Social. Meanwhile, the White House occupant ordered yesterday, Tuesday, the “complete and absolute blockade” of all oil tankers moving to and from Venezuela that have been subject to sanctions by Washington, as announced via Truth Social.
“For stealing our resources, and many other reasons, including terrorism, drug trafficking, and human trafficking, the Venezuela regime has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization,” the Republican stated. “Accordingly, today, I am ordering a complete and absolute blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers going to or leaving Venezuela,” he added.
Trump’s post
“Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest armada ever assembled in the history of South America. It will get even bigger and the shock they will experience will be something they have never experienced before — until they return to the United States of America all the oil, land and other assets they stole from us in the past. The illegal Maduro regime uses oil from these stolen oil fields to finance itself, drug terrorism, human trafficking, murders and kidnappings. For stealing our assets and for many other reasons, including terrorism, drug trafficking and human trafficking, the Venezuela regime has been designated a FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. Therefore, today I order THE COMPLETE AND TOTAL BLOCKADE OF ALL SANCTIONED OIL TANKERS entering or leaving Venezuela. The illegal immigrants and criminals that the Maduro regime sent to the United States during the weak and incompetent Biden administration are being returned to Venezuela at rapid rates. America will not allow criminals, terrorists or other countries to rob, threaten or harm our country and, likewise, will not allow a hostile regime to seize our oil, land or any other assets, which must be returned to the United States IMMEDIATELY. Thank you for your attention to this matter!“
The announcement by the head of the American state comes one week after the US seized a tanker with massive quantities of oil off the coast of Venezuela and directed it to an American port.
Venezuela’s response – “Grotesque military threat”
The Venezuelan government emphasized in a press release that it rejects the “grotesque military threat” by US President Donald Trump, who announced earlier yesterday, Tuesday, that he ordered a “complete and absolute blockade” of all sanctioned oil tankers moving to and from the Latin American country. Caracas called it an “absolutely irrational” decision that hinders free trade and obstructs freedom of navigation.
