Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that the Kyiv government has submitted to the United States an updated version of its peace plan.
According to him, beyond the basic 20-point plan, the framework includes security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as provisions for financing and agreements for the country’s reconstruction.
Zelensky also mentioned that discussions with the US examined the idea of creating a “free economic zone” in parts of eastern Ukraine where Ukrainian forces might withdraw. However, he emphasized that any potential territorial concessions would need to be put to a referendum.
