Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Komotini on Tuesday (11/11), where he inspected the under-construction hospital and expressed his satisfaction with the rapid progress of construction work. “The new Stavros Niarchos Foundation General Hospital of Komotini will be a true 21st-century hospital and one of the three crown jewels of the National Health System, in a region that has so many needs and sensitivities,” Prime Minister Mitsotakis emphasized during his visit.

According to the construction timeline, the new hospital in Komotini will be ready by early 2027, along with the other two hospitals being built with funding from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. According to the Prime Minister, these three new hospitals will represent the most modern facilities available to the Greek National Health System. Earlier, Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Komotini Music School, where students welcomed him with a musical performance, the Carathéodory Museum, and met with Metropolitan Panteleimon and the Acting Mufti of Komotini, Yaser Serif Damadoglu.
