“In the truly impressive political and military parade in Thessaloniki, we see reflected the image of a country that respects and honors the glorious moments of its past. At the same time, however, it is able to look to the future with optimism and confidence,” emphasized Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his statements from Thessaloniki, after the conclusion of the military parade for October 28.
Mitsotakis on October 28: We are called to pass the message of unity to the new generation
“85 years ago, Greeks set aside their differences, united to fight for their freedom and achieved a proud victory, and this message of unity we are called to pass on to the responsibilities of our own generation. We live in turbulent and difficult times, but the military parade we watched today makes us all feel confident that the Armed Forces are always here to defend this freedom for which our ancestors fought,” he added.
“The Armed Forces are today undergoing perhaps the most significant transformation in their history, to be able to respond to the great, exceptional challenges of our times. And indeed, this day, this national holiday of October 28, is first and above all dedicated to those men and women who do not sleep at night 365 days a year, so that all of us can enjoy the benefits of our freedom. Many happy returns to our Thessaloniki! Many happy returns to Greeks everywhere on earth,” the Prime Minister concluded.
