Columnist and electoral analyst Andreas Drymiótis launched a scathing attack against former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, claiming that if the former PM forms a new party, it will have a ceiling of 12%. “If he comes back with the same people, he left with under 17%, he’ll get even less. Remember what I’m telling you – 12% is Alexis Tsipras’ ceiling. A man who got 31%, lost 6 times to Mitsotakis, has been absent for 2 years and will get 12%. Will he go from being a mayor to a court clerk?” Drymiótis said characteristically, speaking on SKAI TV.
After reminding viewers that “the reason he was voted in back then was because he had a narrative that ‘I am untainted and have no connection to the memorandums,'” Drymiótis then questioned “was he any better with the Novartis scandal?”
Andreas Drymiótis: Alexis Tsipras was a liar
“He was a liar, the letter to the President of the Republic claiming ‘I restored economic order to Greece with closed banks’… He hasn’t changed at all, just because we talk about rebranding? How exactly is he a democrat? The worst thing he said is that Parliament is stripped of democracy. It’s absurd squared that he wants to return to the same parliament after his resignation,” the electoral analyst added, rhetorically asking again “is Tsipras the strong personality the opposition is looking for?”
On the possibility of Antonis Samaras forming a party
Regarding the possibility that Antonis Samaras might also proceed to establish a party, Drymiótis said “I tell you he’ll go to 3-4%, but even with that he’ll cause damage because he can’t stand Mitsotakis.”
“He’s set his sights on bringing down Mitsotakis and one scenario is to elect 10-12 MPs and say I’ll hand them over as long as Mitsotakis leaves,” Andreas Drymiótis concluded.
