New Democracy maintains a 12.4-point lead over PASOK according to a new poll by GPO presented on STAR’s main news bulletin by analyst Antonis Papargyris. This is the first survey conducted after the Thessaloniki International Fair, commissioned by STAR, capturing new trends in citizens’ electoral behavior.
In voting intention, New Democracy polls at 24.7%, down one point from the previous June survey. PASOK reaches 12.3%, while Greek Solution rises to third place with 9.8%. Course of Freedom drops 4.5 points to fourth place alongside the Communist Party at 7.9%. SYRIZA follows with 5.2%. Voice of Reason reaches 2.8% and Victory 2.3%, while Democratic Movement polls at 2.1% and MeRA25 at 2%. New Left gathers 1.5%, while undecided voters rise to 16.2%, up nearly 3.9% from June.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is considered the most suitable prime minister with 27.8%. Nikos Androulakis follows with 10.4%. Kyriakos Velopoulos rises to third place with 8.8% while Zoe Konstantopoulou drops to fourth with 8.6%. Dimitris Koutsoumpas ranks fifth with 4.8%, followed by Sokratis Famellos, Afroditi Latinopoulou, Stefanos Kasselakis, Alexis Charitsis, and Dimitris Natsios.


An absolute majority of 51.2% of citizens agree or somewhat agree with PASOK’s call for immediate elections.

Additionally, an absolute majority (50.2%) prefer elections to produce a coalition government.

Regarding which party should form the core of a coalition government, 30.7% choose New Democracy versus 29.2% who choose PASOK.
If Tsipras creates a new party, 19.4% of respondents say they would likely vote for it. Of these, 8.7% say it’s very likely and 10.7% quite likely. Conversely, 79.2% say they would be unlikely or not at all likely to vote for it.

57.8% of citizens consider high prices and low incomes as the most important problem, followed by corruption at 14.5%.

Moreover, 55.6% of respondents say their disposable income is insufficient to cover their monthly needs, while 66.8% believe corruption in Greece has increased under New Democracy governments.

Finally, regarding the tax measures announced by the prime minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair and whether they will boost citizens’ income, 67.5% answer no or probably not versus 31.1% who answer yes or probably yes.
