Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met for the first time with the new United States Ambassador to Athens, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is expected to be sworn in on Monday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of an event organized by the Atlantic Council and the Antenna Group in New York focused on deepening cooperation between the EU and Gulf Cooperation Council member states within the framework of the Alliance for Europe and the Middle East initiative, AEGGIS (Alliance for Europe-Gulf Geopolitics & Investments Summit).
The central theme of the organized meeting highlighted Greece’s significant potential role as a political, commercial, and energy bridge between India, Gulf countries, and Europe, as well as a natural investment destination for Gulf countries in Europe. It should be noted that Guilfoyle received the green light from Congress last Thursday for her appointment as the new US Ambassador to Greece, with her arrival in Athens expected at the end of October.
