Andreas Loverdos launched a fierce attack against PASOK and its leader Nikos Androulakis in statements to ACTION24. “You are politically wrong and you will never become government, you are an extra-governmental left,” he said, referring to the leader of the main opposition. It’s worth noting that his relations with the PASOK president have been non-existent since 2021. “We haven’t spoken since 2021,” he confided. Regarding his decision to join New Democracy, he noted that he is where they want him and left from where they didn’t want him at all. When asked about his relations with New Democracy’s Right wing, particularly with Makis Voridis, Adonis Georgiadis and Thanos Plevris, he replied that their cooperation is excellent. “I have worked with all three and our cooperation is excellent,” he said specifically.
Furthermore, he reiterated his decision not to publicize the letter he gave to party president Nikos Androulakis, in which he wrote the reason he left PASOK.
Criticizing Nikos Androulakis’ PASOK, he said it left the center ground to Mitsotakis, saying things that lean more toward the Left. “I followed what I believe. They are the ones who changed,” he declared specifically.
Additionally, he rejected claims of a deal for joining New Democracy, noting that he didn’t receive any ministry. He added that he went to New Democracy to give and not to take, and that he will fight for votes.
