“Using the image of the lynching of Nepal’s Communist Finance Minister, various far-left and far-right accounts went wild. I demand his exemplary punishment, not for revenge, but because we must not allow violence and toxicity to prevail in our society. Freedom of speech is non-negotiable, but like every right, it comes with responsibility. The responsibility for all of us to know the limits of our own freedom and the dignity and freedom of others. Anyone who threatens my life and that of my family will face the consequences of the law, and for threats against my life I will also seek removal of anonymity as the law permits. Criticism as much as you want, slander and threats must end,” the minister noted.
