The first session of the parliamentary inquiry committee tasked with investigating all activities at OPEKEPE from 1998 to the present will take place on September 15. As decided by the Conference of Presidents that convened on Monday morning, the first session will begin at 12:00 with the election of the presidency.
According to sources, the presidency of the 31-member inquiry committee will be composed of members from New Democracy: A. Nikolakopoulos, M. Syrengela, I. Lytrivi, M. Lazaridis, D. Aktypis, D.-Th. Avgerinopoulos, N. Vlachakos, G. Vrettakos, deputy secretary of the New Democracy parliamentary group D. Gkolidakis, Ag. Delikaري, M. Iatridi, P. Kappatos, Sp. Koulkoudinas, V. Liakos, M. Livanos, A. Mani-Papadimitriou, and F. Fortomas.
SYRIZA will be represented by V. Kokkalis, Al. Meikopoulos, and K. Barkas, Greek Solution by K. Boumbas and P. Papadakis, “Niki” by N. Vrettos, Course of Freedom by Alexandros Kazamias, while PASOK is expected to finalize its representatives within the next 24 hours. Information suggests that the presidency will consist of A. Nikolakopoulos (president), M. Syrengela (vice-president), and I. Lytrivi (secretary). M. Lazaridis is expected to serve as the majority rapporteur, and it should be noted that the inquiry’s work will last three months. We remind that the inquiry committee’s work will span three months, with possible extension if necessary.
It’s worth noting that during today’s Conference of Presidents, it was decided to hold a public session on September 20 for the draw of the Five-member Judicial Council that will be called to examine the case of Kostas Ach. Karamanlis, who was referred for preliminary investigation regarding the railway tragedy at Tempi.
