“We will complete the four-year term. Elections will be held in 2027”, stated Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the TIF 2025 press conference, responding to a related question about political stability, parliamentary majority and the possibility of early elections.
Specifically, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated: “Under no circumstances. The government has a secure parliamentary majority. We will complete the four-year term. Elections will be held in 2027. I don’t know how more clearly I can say it. You asked me the same questions throughout the entire first four-year term. I proved you wrong. I have demonstrated what I say. I repeat what I told you, obviously we want to win. Obviously I want to win the next elections, but that’s not my concern right now.”
“In 2023 I made commitments to the citizens. I spoke to them about wages, about better disposable income, about a better National Health System. I spoke to them about reforms, like those I described earlier, non-state universities. I spoke to them about strengthening the Armed Forces and about a foreign policy with confidence. I spoke to them about how we would utilize resources from the Recovery Fund for the benefit of our entire homeland. This was our agenda and much more in 2023. I am interested in implementing this agenda. If I have succeeded in my goals, I believe we will be consistent with the citizens, but we won’t do it if we have our minds on 2027. Tactics don’t interest me. The citizens will decide, the people are sovereign,” added the Prime Minister.
