“When Elon Musk says that Greece is dying, Elon Musk who doesn’t even know where Greece is located, this means that 100 bells are ringing together,” emphasized Tasos Giannitsis speaking on Parapolitika 90.1 about the country’s demographic crisis.
Giannitsis on Parapolitika 90.1: “When Musk says Greece is dying, it means 100 bells are ringing together”
The former minister and professor emeritus spoke on Thursday morning (4/9) on the show “On Air” with journalist Niki Lyberaki and said initially: “When Elon Musk says that Greece is dying, Elon Musk who doesn’t know where Greece is located, but sees what’s happening, this means that 100 bells are ringing together. They’re not ringing for the first time, they’ve been ringing here for quite some time, at least 15 years, but the political system shows no interest in dealing with issues from which it cannot derive immediate benefit.”
He added: “A few months ago, 25 reforms were announced together. The country struggles to see one reform on a serious issue for years, and 25 reforms were announced all at once. If we search to see now or in three months what will have been done, first, they are not reforms, and second, even insignificant things that are called reforms don’t get implemented.”
He concluded: “Let’s not expect that in the next 50 years it’s possible to reverse all this gap that lies before us. What we can do is reduce the extreme differences, narrow the range, and have a better situation.”
