The commitment of Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos for absolute transparency and accountability is being implemented, with the Development Ministry proceeding for the first time to recover funds from investments under previous development laws that were not completed.
Minister Theodorikakos’ detailed statement:
“We had committed that money given in the past through the development law for investments that were not completed would be returned to Greek taxpayers.
Some questioned this at the time. Today we announce that the Development Ministry has already sent the first €43 million to the tax authority for collection and recovery.
And we continue with the same intensive pace of auditing and recoveries in the coming weeks.
Because we must turn transparency and accountability into action, so that Greek citizens’ money is put to good use in real productive investments that bring jobs and strong development to the country”.
