A sharp intervention, prompted by what Alexis Tsipras said in his interview, was made by former Finance Minister, Euclid Tsakalotos. Specifically, Euclid Tsakalotos poses, in a Facebook post, a series of questions for the former prime minister and what he supported regarding the economic policy of the 2015–2019 period.
The full post by Euclid Tsakalotos:
Specifically, the Finance Minister during the SYRIZA-ANEL government noted: «Reading Alexis Tsipras’ interview, some questions arose. Is the Alexis Tsipras who praises the 2015-2019 economic policy the same Alexis Tsipras who in opposition after 2019 demanded disconnection from the SYRIZA government’s economic policy and from the people who participated in shaping it? Is he the same Alexis Tsipras who allowed, if not encouraged, the anti-SYRIZA front to enter within SYRIZA after 2019 (with continuous public criticism from SYRIZA officials about excessive surpluses, damage to the middle class, excessive cushion, etc.)? Perhaps it would be better to make an effort to approach the truth, however difficult that may be, rather than having parallel truths?».
