Grief has swept through the country’s political circles following news of the sudden death of Apostolos Vesyropoulos, general secretary of New Democracy’s parliamentary group, former deputy finance minister and top vote-getter for ND in Imathia. Apostolos Vesyropoulos died at age 59 after suffering a heart attack while at a beach bar in Halkidiki.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in a social media post, bids farewell to Apostolos Vesyropoulos and expresses his deep condolences to his family for his death. Specifically, in his post, the prime minister declares himself shocked by the loss of the former deputy finance minister.
“Those of us who knew him will remember him as a sweet and good man, devoted to duty and with a genuine desire to serve his country,” the prime minister notes.
