“Two Greek air force aircraft dropped 8.5 tons of basic food supplies in areas of Gaza” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Saturday afternoon (9/8).

The Prime Minister, through a post on social media, announced after his communication with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, that Greece sent two air force aircraft to Gaza, which dropped 8.5 tons of basic food supplies.

In his post he wrote: “This morning, two Greek air force aircraft carried out drops of 8.5 tons of basic food supplies in areas of Gaza. The operation was organized in cooperation with European Union and Middle Eastern countries and aimed to support the basic needs of people in the suffering region.
Greece will continue to take initiatives for the immediate cessation of hostilities, the release of hostages and the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. It is our duty to immediately stop human suffering”.
