Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held a telephone conversation with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. According to reports, they discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank.

The Greek prime minister expressed his deep concern about the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and emphasized that any expansion of hostilities is unacceptable. Kyriakos Mitsotakis also conveyed Greece’s position on the need for unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, an immediate ceasefire, and the unconditional release of all hostages.
It should be noted that the prime minister stressed the need to restart the political process aimed at a two-state solution, where both states would coexist peacefully and securely. Kyriakos Mitsotakis then reiterated Greece’s support for the Palestinian Authority as the only legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, as well as Greece’s readiness to undertake further humanitarian initiatives.
Conversation with Rubio
Earlier today, Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The discussion centered on the strategic importance of US-Greece energy cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean.
According to the State Department announcement, the head of American diplomacy “reaffirmed the continued strength of the bilateral relationship between the United States and Greece and its role as a key NATO ally.”
