Due to dangerous weather conditions and the extremely high fire risk prevailing in various regions of the country, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection is calling on relevant authorities and local governments to take immediate protective measures. It should be noted that the recommendations include actions to protect beneficiaries in social care facilities, such as elderly care units, social support centers, and day care centers for children and people with disabilities, as well as ensuring safe transportation of citizens.
Regional administrations are called upon to immediately inform their respective municipalities and ensure that childcare centers, nurseries, and kindergartens operating during the current period will take all required measures to protect infants and toddlers. These measures include taking preventive actions during children’s transportation and during their stay at the facilities.
Protection of vulnerable groups
Regional authorities are called to inform regional units about the need to take preventive measures by elderly care units, day care centers for the elderly, supported living facilities, and other similar structures. Additionally, it is important to take protective measures for people with disabilities and children attending creative activity centers and specialized centers for people with disabilities.
Summer camps
Special attention is given to children’s summer camps operated by public and private organizations, as well as by institutions and municipalities. The camps must have already taken all necessary fire protection measures according to guidelines from the Ministry of Environment and Energy, in cooperation with the competent Forest Directorates and Forest Services. In case of emergency, fire protection and evacuation plans must be followed, which have been submitted by the camps to the competent authorities and are mandatory to ensure the safety of children and accompanying staff.
Implementation of fire protection measures
The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection emphasizes that cooperation between relevant authorities is crucial for avoiding risks. All facilities are called upon to review their fire protection plans and strengthen safety measures, especially in areas with high fire risk.
The deployment of preventive measures and their real-time implementation is vital for protecting citizens, especially vulnerable groups and children in summer camps. The response from local authorities and social care facilities must be immediate and coordinated to avoid any danger.
