Kalliopi Semertzidou: The resignation letter
“With respect to our party and its president, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, I submit my resignation from the position of Community Resources and Women’s Entrepreneurship Coordinator in the Agricultural Organizations Secretariat of New Democracy.
Recently, my family and I have been at the center of an unjust and targeted attack with false and slanderous reports on social media and publications.
All of this does not correspond to reality and unfairly damages our personal and professional image. We are not involved in any case being investigated by the Authority for Combating Money Laundering from Criminal Activities.
Our activities are transparent and legal, and we have already initiated the necessary legal procedures to protect our reputation.
My decision to resign has purely political motives. I want to protect the party from any attempt at targeting and misdirection through personal attacks against me.
I remain an active member of New Democracy and will continue to support our common effort with all my strength, with faith in our values and principles.”
