Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed the General Assembly of SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) at an event held at the Athens Concert Hall on Tuesday evening, October 6. The Prime Minister was expected to announce a series of measures aimed at supporting Greek industry, particularly in the energy sector. The speech came approximately one day before his scheduled meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The theme of the SEV event was “Productive Greece in a changing Europe.”
“I have recommended to the President of the European Commission that she explore a common European response — one that will form a unified European position in the face of these challenges — and at the upcoming European Council we will have the opportunity to address them,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis commented regarding the surge in energy prices. “We must move decisively toward a productive Greece in the face of a changing Europe,” the Prime Minister stressed, speaking on issues ranging from artificial intelligence to demographics that the world is grappling with.
