Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a clear message about the 2027 elections, inspired by a perfect “4 for 4” shooting streak during a casual basketball game at New Democracy’s 52nd anniversary celebration. “We’re going for the fourth win,” the Greek Prime Minister told reporters on the sidelines of the event, held on Monday afternoon (05/10) at the OSY bus depot.
Mitsotakis: “We’re going for the fourth win”
With one eye firmly on the ballot box, the Prime Minister drew a direct parallel between his flawless performance on the basketball court and New Democracy’s three consecutive election victories. “I played basketball and scored 4 out of 4. If you consider that we’ve won 3 elections, that means something. We’re going for the fourth win,” he told reporters.
The remark complemented a message he had delivered moments earlier from the event’s stage, where the Prime Minister appeared confident that his party could replicate its electoral success in the spring of 2027.

“We did it before and we’ll do it again in the spring of 2027”
The basketball quip rounded off the broader political message Mitsotakis had already delivered from the stage, where he projected strong confidence in New Democracy’s ability to secure another election victory in spring 2027.
With the next national election squarely in his sights, Mitsotakis highlighted his party’s long and distinguished electoral record throughout its history.
He recalled that New Democracy has achieved the remarkable feat of winning elections with over 40% of the vote on four separate occasions — under Konstantinos Karamanlis, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, and Kostas Karamanlis. He then drew a direct line from that proud historical legacy to today’s party and the upcoming election battle. “We did it too, and we will do it again in the spring of 2027,” he declared, using New Democracy’s 52nd birthday to fire the starting gun on the political campaign ahead.
