The anniversary event marking 52 years since the founding of New Democracy continues at the old OSY depot, following the keynote address by Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The Prime Minister and party leader served as the event’s main speaker, rallying supporters for yet another electoral victory — “defying expectations and achieving our goal,” as he emphasized — targeting the spring of 2027. That goal, as Mitsotakis made clear, is nothing short of an outright parliamentary majority.
He opened his speech by expressing deep emotion at the sight of the party’s longtime supporters. Antonis Samaras, who has been expelled from the party, was not expected to attend, nor was Kostas Karamanlis. Nikos Dendias was also absent from the event, as he was in Venice to participate in a ministerial-level meeting of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (ADRION Initiative).
